That was always on - doesn't look comfortable against pace. Rabada now needs to be protected against de Silva but Faf’s struggling with him as well.

Nice, Lakmal hasn't had much luck since the Gabba, just reward for some skilful and consistent output

Some collapse this. They were 90 for 3 and just an hour or so away from killing the game. Same thing happened in Durban.

Sri Lanka still attacking Faf. Faf in the same situation puts the field out if the batsman is set. Did it today with Dickwella as well.

Hopeless batting with the tail as well. Hasn't even bothered farming the strike.

This really is the bizarro world - how was that not called straight away? And how the **** did it happen? Jesus

So that culminates in the most embarrassing pathetic batting display of the season.... surpassed yourselves.

Edit: and no ball-ed

This is going to be a 2.5 day test regardless of what happens here. Unbelievable. South African curators need to maybe cut a little grass off the wicket occasionally.

Keep it within 200 and Sri Lanka have a reasonable chance. 225 would be beyond them, I feel.

This pitch is placid.... this is a 300-350 run wicket for any decent batting side.

Well Sri Lanka will be batting on a day 3 pitch so in theory they should get the best batting conditions.

PS while I'm following this I'm not actually watching it so I just assumed with the 3 innings scores that it was a bit green.

The poor sods are faithfully following Faf's diktat. He needs to realise that the gap between two bowling attacks is reduced when the pitch does a lot.
But he resorts to kid stuff: they prepared turners for us when we went there; we will show them now; etc.
