Oh dear, that was a bad day at the office. Let's see what happens when we bat, but I fear a margin of defeat similar to England's in the first testm

Thank you for your input captain hindsight.
It's better than making a fool of yourself isn't it? :)

We all write posts that don't age well don't we? Which is why people usually don't chip anyone else who happens to write a shocker.

However most people can also read a post like the one suggesting Wood replace Curran and respond without casting doubts on the intelligence of the poster or their knowledge of cricket. Which you seem to regularly do. Besides the suggestion of replacing an ineffective Curran with Wood was reasonable. England has an excess of RH Fast medium. Curran offers variation but it didn't work. Wood's extra pace also provides a counterpoint. Plus he's the sort of bowler that has been successful on the variable pitches this series. So why wouldn't you pick him over the non performing Curran or more of the same Woakes? It makes sense to anyone who watches the game ...

I too would have picked Wood, but for the 2nd test as well as this one. It's not important you don't believe me. After alI it looks like I saved myself a vitriolic reply, isn't that right? All you need to know is that it was a reasonable suggestion that proved correct. So calm down. No need to get so touchy about some gentle teasing you wouldn't get if you just responded to people with a little respect in the first place.

England playing themselves into form here.

What with the Ashes right around the corner, there's every chance England could return home & smack Australia.

Can I just say how good it is to see West Indies cricket uploading 40 minute highlight reels of each day's play?

Catching up, but goddamn that celebration by Root and Wood on the Bravo dismissal was too wholesome.

"You, sir, are a homophobic slur."

This would be quite the sledge if done in a toff English accent.

Anyway it's good to see England picking batsmen who average in the 20s. Makes me feel a little better about picking M Marsh all those times.

Sad to see the West Indies unable to play well enough to make this 3-0 and I do hope this isn't another false dawn for the Windies team. I don't exactly want them to return to the 80s level of dominance but it'd be nice to have the Windies hanging around the top 4. Be nice to get some 5 test summers where they're competitive again.

Wi could lose this test by 1000 runs and I still wouldn't care. They've taken bk the wisden trophy for the first time in a decade and they did it fair and square. They beat an English team that just swept SL .Everyone including myself, expected England to maul the wi but they didn't. Is this a new dawn?? Unlikely, wi did after all just got swept in Bangladesh. The biggest test will come later this year when wi host India. If they can win one just one game then I'd be convinced. But I'm not kidding myself, India are heavy favorites for that series.

Even so, doing well in this last test match is very important to England; now they would want Anderson and Broad to bowl a lot better than what they did in the first innings.

I think the West Indies will surprise a lot of people when they play India at home.
If they ignore the TV guys; if they refuse to prepare pitches that are designed to make the game go on for five days.

Really starting to feel it’s the captaincy that’s got to Root’s batting. Just seems to play worse and worse the poorer his side is doing. He certainly looked a lot more free in SL.
Take it off him, srs

Who gets it then? None of the other batsmen are really nailed on starters, Stokes.. nah. Moeen gets left out from time to time. Anderson/Broad? I guess.
