Running the BBL after Christmas and interspursing the ODDs and shield matches throughout the rest of the summer would be the best way to go IMO. Forcing the players to adapt between the four day game and the one day game on short notice is good preparation for the international calendar.

I love the BBL, but with 56 games over 2 months does anyone else think this is way to long (I've now lost interest half way through)
Surely they could have 2 groups of 4 play each other home & away and then have the top 2 from each group play in the final series (1 vs 4 & 2 vs 3). I calculate that would be 31 games in about 5 weeks?
Any thoughts?

Nah, I don't like a league where you only play half the other teams. Miss out on too many interesting match ups.
I'm happy for not playing every single team home and away though. The NRL and AFL have 16 and 18 teams and they get by just fine with 26(i think) match seasons. Like I don't really think the Sydney teams and Melbourne teams really require home and away games against each other as there's very similar cricket conditions within a state

Terrible captaincy from Maxi. Regretted not batting himself 3 so tried to get funky and bowl himself.
This idea of sneaking a couple of cheap overs from your part timer at the start is so risky. More than just potentiality not working, it allows the batters to get their confidence up and eye in under low/no pressure

Pretty atrocious from Dunk & Stoinis tbh. Leaving so many star batsmen in the shed in a T20 is criminal. If Stars lose this game they'll need to ask some serious questions.

Is... Dwarshius somehow reversing it? Never seen him swing it into the lefties and that wicket ball the seam was oriented to swing it away. How odd.

Even with reverse swing the seam should still be oriented to swing it the way it swings
