well this is not exactly a natural occurrence out of the control of the ground
Still. Rules is rules. 5 overs min.

Also, it's not the grounds fault. It's a blackout affecting nearby streets. Not sure why three lights are still standing

God the commentators are stupid. “Of the two teams, the Thunder seem really upset.” Fmd why wouldn’t they be.

tbh I didn't realize there was even a Heat game on at the Gabba tonight. Then I didn't bother watching the first innings due to Cutting bowling at the time and getting pasted. Then got stuck watching Bolt win in the tennis and missed the bash brothers' wickets.

So in summary, it's safe to pretend this game never existed (except that the point will probably get the Heat into the finals).

If they don't get back on Thunder should absolutely get full points and a net run rate boost. Anything else would be a travesty

It's no different to rain coming really

Unless you want to blame the heat coz it happened in their home city

as ponting says, if it rain the umpires probably would stayed out there for a few overs. and of course rain doesn't just come out of nowhere, the thunder would have looked at the radar and opened with green to help get to 5 overs. it doesn't feel like an apt comparison

They wouldn't have come back out in the pouring rain though. Only would have waited a bit before coming off

They probably expected the issue to resolve itself in a few minutes tonight when they went off. Otherwise they might have allowed two more overs to be bowled.
