henry's bowling deliveries that would be giving the batsman hell in nz but it's not going to work for him here

and a near chance

Simon Doull as soon as he sees a divot in the outfield mentions a recent round of golf with the other comms.
Earlier in the Aus/SA game, exactly the same damn thing.

Cricket commentators 8-) Any ****ing chance to talk about golf.

Bowling over the wicket, Ferguson is falling away a little which makes me paranoid he's going to injure himself. Looks much more balanced and arm vertical when round the wicket.

De Grandhomme bowling is cue for me to go to sleep - this pitch makes for an attritional match. Will probably suit the spinners though.

Hasan is not 100%. I just feel like it's a massive gamble to rely on Hafeez/Haris to complete 10 overs when you probably needed some cushion for one of your specialist bowlers

Ferguson and CdG have pulled things back a bit, bowled pretty well. Fakhar looks set for a big score though so NZ could well be looking at a challenging chase if they don't get him soon.

Good wicket for NZ, brought about through building pressure, but been off key since then. Not consistent enough in stringing tight overs together. CdG has been very good, Sodhi less so.

Fakhar looked excellent while he was there, rather gave it away as soon as the screws were applied. Haris looks in ominous touch now.

280 probably a bit too much for NZ based on what we've seen this series. Good batting performance though did feel NZ were flat in the field.

Top performance from Ferguson, he adapted very well to this pitch and has surely become a first choice player now. Otherwise, bad time for Boult and Sodhi to have an off day.

I see Pakistan picked their test squad for New Zealand with the 4 quicks being Mohammed Abbas, Hasan Ali , Mir Hamza & Shaheen Shah Afridi.

I can understand moving on from Wahab Riaz and Rahat Ali in all formats. But where do you think Mohammed Amir & Junaid Khan are ? Will they be in the test squad to SA and the WC squad ?

Also saw a kid open the bowling with Shaheen Shah Afridi for Peshawar in that T20 tournament and was bowling 150kph yorkers at will. Think his name is Haris Rauf. Where is he now ?

Yeah not like they had any easy games against Zimbabwe this year where they could have tried out these experiments
My instinct here was to point out that it 'working' against Zimbabwe's Second XI wouldn't have proved much either way, but to be fair the same actually largely applies here anyway -- Hafeez 4.0 and Harris are much more likely to come off as bowlers in the UAE than England, so if it works here it may actually give a false impression of what the best balance actually is for the WC.

Junaid is injured; he should be back for the big away tours.

I reckon Amir is just out of favour at the moment though. They gave him a lot of games post-ban and he didn't look awful but did end up with some largely awful figures and disconcertingly just wasn't moving the ball off the straight.

Yeah such a pity. Amir did lose that zip and early on he had quite a number of catches dropped off him but I think he deserved his dropping.

Left-armers just seem to grow on trees in Pakistan (make that Asia) so they will have options.
