Sashi picked up the Gong last night to win the finale of Masterchef. Was a top series this year, rounded off with a cracking Heston Blumenthal non-Asian (of course, it had taste) dessert challenge.

Worthy winner. Bloke was very consistent across the whole series.
So you're saying an Asian won Masterchef?

Yeah he's been favourite for ten weeks mate. I've been telling you as much, even as you've been secretly watching it. Once he learned how to do a dessert which wasn't crap, he was a shoo-in.

- My best,
Burgey

I guess that settles the debate then. Asians love food more. Proven. Nice to see you come around to this (correct) conclusion Burgey. It took a good awful network cooking show to help you see this, which could have been avoided if you just took my posts for the gospel that they are, but whatever floats your boat.

This Shashi fella wouldn't even get a job cooking in a roadside dhaba anywhere across India btw

Of course he wouldn't - he left for a better life. Now he's culturally appropriated western ingredients and methods for his cooking, I expect he'll really kick on and have some success.

At least I am eating breakfast. No one likes cooking in the morning. But dinners are elaborate and pretty ****ing great. Just made some kheema, which is simmering aws.
You're probably better off skipping breakfast than eating that garbage. It's probably quicker making a bowl of cereal and grabbing an apple. You'll feel better as well

A protein shake and an apple grab is definitely a better thing than those pies. Cheaper too, and quicker. If you could get some peanut butter into your protein shake, then it all comes together.

As bachelor, open the fridge, take a bite of cold pizza and a chug of coke for breakfast. Aaah, those were the dayz - total freedom to do what the **** I felt like.

I wonder if Burgey remembers those days, or anything else from pre-war

It depends which iteration of my bachelorism you're referring to.

Now Masterchef is done and Australian Survivor (the envy of every other Survivor in the world btw) has kicked off, it's worth discussing the ex-SAS soldier who's on there who lost his legs in Afghanistan to an IED. He was chatting with his team mates last night talking about the incident and described it as "I knew I was in a bit of trouble. I said to my mate 'Are my legs still there?' and he said wtte of 'Yeah mate, they're there, I can see them just down the hill a bit.'"

Also worth noting that the teams are eating lots of *****'s favourite food - rice. In the world of our Hong Kong gastronome, boiling rice on the beach for 42 days goes a long way to making you a world-renowned chef. Spud.

My Best,
Burgey.

Boss has us working hard on trying to make a decent cake for his step father’s 80th on Sunday. Working well so far. The remit is to examine *****’s post on anything to do with food and do the opposite, so it should be damn tasty.
