He would have been involved in the winter if it weren't for injury, same as TRJ. Only thing is is he quick enough to make the attack varied? They may not want another 80-85mph bowler.
Have you got anyone who isn't an 80-85 mph bowler who is a) fit b) decent enough and c) not Mark Wood (see b)?

Reading through 2017's match reports in Wisden, they said that Wood was brilliant in the champions trophy and England's other one-day stuff - I didn't watch any of it so wouldn't know.

Somerset making the rookie mistake against Worcs -- batting first means Travis Head bats in the fourth innings.

Rest of the batting order spudding it up big time means it shouldn't matter too much. Not a good outing for Joe Clarke, that.

Got to be one of the best County signings in recent years. Wickets no matter the time of the season, as a spinner bowls lots overs, crucial lower order runs and gobbles up most things at slip.

Along with Varun Chopra, Simon Harmer was awarded his Essex County Cap yesterday.

Very true. County cricket also improved him massively.
Would say that Jeets and Harmer have probably been the best overseas/Kolpaks (not sure if that is still the term) in the last 10 years.

Feel for Harmer getting his cap off Irani though, surely there was a better former player who could have done that?

Ollie pope looks good, potentially really good- had a good winter playing grade cricket in Aus too - obv has the advantage of batting at the oval. Harry Brook hasn't scored much but looks particularly good too when he is batting.

Just hope Alec Stewart doesn't talk him up too soon like he usually does with any young player at Surrey. Not difficult to spot the good ones but let them develop without the spotlight of being the next big thing.
