It's riskier to defend a long hop than whack itWhat are you doing, Ish?
Hope Cook's okay.
Thanks Richard.Nah he didn't join until the 27th.
Many a batsman have perished to the 48 year old dad of 2 throwing down a long hop on a breezy sunday in 2nd XI club cricket. Underrated ball. It's riskier to defend a long hop than whack it
I remember this reference from my early days on the forum, even though I was only 6 years old at the timeThanks Richard.
THIS POST WAS IN JEST, THIS POST IS ALSO A DATED REFERENCE BY ABOUT 8 YEARS AT LEAST
Not long. I assume that's why Root is bowling. How long do you think England have left before the light gets too dark? Can't be more than half an hour.
Could you perhaps start a medium to large bonfire to add to the cloud cover and hasten things a bit?The light is certainly starting to fade quickly here (about 3km from the ground). May not be all that long to go tbh.
This test looked like a dead draw right from the third morning onwards. Even all the artificial excitement that the Kiwi top order provided is not going to change that. That this is getting so close does show how NZ would have saved the match comfortably if the top order batsmen had not giving their wickets away so easily.
Dunno if I'd go quite that far - thinking of Anderson bowling Watling on day two, the new ball has usually been threatening. Wickets hard to come by the rest of the time, but I really thought England would do this easily with the second new ball today. This test looked like a dead draw right from the third morning onwards.
