I think revenue is a big factor here. Fans from both England and Australia would have paid good money to watch the game. Money talks that is the world we live in.

I saw a game I think it was in New Zealand where a fan won a lot of cash for catching a ball that was hit into the crowd, does this happen often? It’s a cool way to bring fans into the game and keep them involved.

I was reading something today about how television companies like BT are going to be more reluctant to bid on home side slanted test series with the inevitable drop-in ratings for the final few dead rubbers. It will become harder to justify the price.

Just add an extra two weeks into the schedule for some tour games. It's not massive

Yeah, that's the thing. We talk a lot about on-field sledging, but there's an element of consent to that in that it's coming from the actual players you're trying to beat, and you can do something about it (and indeed, the umpire can shut them up). If a section of the crowd starts singing all day about how awful you are about your profession, what are you meant to do?

Yeah, I'm not saying there are any clear lines here or indeed that there's anything clearly wrong. But it's really weird to me that we're all just okay with them going after Jackson Bird all day without even so much as a comment.

I once called Broad a girl, he just turned and laughed and carried on with his fielding. As long as none of the jabs are racially or religiously motivated and there isn't the use of swear words, players should be able to handle it. If it gets to the point where it crosses the lines, those fans need to be spotted and barred from the ground for life.

Jimmy and England are not denying he used his fingernail, the excuse is simply that he was trying to flatten a piece of leather. Does that not count as changing the condition of the ball outside of natural bounds? I can name a couple of countries which would have had players banned for less than that.

I've actually had football in mind the whole time tbf. Genuinely torn about it there too, but there I feel it's a lot more part of the culture of the sport, where as the Barmy Army is definitely an outlier here. Otherwise it's mostly just random abuse "calling Hadlee/KP/Broad a wanker" which we all mostly agree is pretty deadshit behavior.
