***Official*** 2nd Test at Adelaide

I assume you mean the series in England over three years ago? He only averaged in the low 40s before that happened, I'm not sure you can explain the difference between that tour and his current exploits as purely a form thing. He's gone on a massive upward trajectory in tests ever since.
Jesus this is a massacre. Lyon is bowling beautifully.

Gets Ali almost!
Clinical stuff here from the Aussies.

But at the same time the English to order threw away their wickets this morning. Bad batting vs a good bowling attack = collapse.

Herath is their only bowler of note and I rate Kohli very highly against spin.

And I'm not trying to denigrate Kohli at all. It's just sad to me that he keeps breaking records mostly due to weak opposition and the schedule giving him so many home tests (20 in the last 3 years).
Before this home series, one of the biggest criticisms of kohli was that he actually hadn't been dominant enough at home.

Has Lyon really improved by leaps and bounds or is England playing poorly? I haven't been able to watch the games so far.

Well he's certainly answered those critics.

He looks very suited to playing on all pitch types, except perhaps a swing-friendly pitch.

I look forward to seeing India tour South Africa and Australia over the next 12 months. That'll be a true test for the world's number 1 team.

They tour England as well.

Root will have to score few runs in this series to be considered 2nd best tbh.

English player will never be rated unless he scores in Australia.

Herath does best against absolutely clueless teams. India is not.
Doesn't that prove the quality of Kohli and India then? The logic is circular and incorrect. Kohli isn't good because his runs against Herath don't matter as he only does well against bad batsmen.

Lara wouldn't allow Lyon to settle in on a length like the English batsmen had. Lyon would have more to worry about after he had been lifted into the Adelaide stands a few times.

If Warne and Murali struggled against Lara, it's madness not to conclude that he would have marmalised Lyon.
