Its not like Smith is boring to watch like Cook, he's just ugly but he can entertain. His Pune 100 was one of the best test innings in India that I have ever seen.
Probably his 3rd best ton in that series tbh. His ton at Dharamshala was one of the most scary things I've ever seen. From basically the first ball he faced, the hundred looked an inevitability.

The guy's consistency is ridiculous. He just gets runs no matter what.

Definitely the best Test batsman in the world by some margin, and there's some brilliant ones around ATM (Williamson/Root/Kohli + Warner/Ali/Pujara/Amla etc.)

Okay, looks like we are in for a competitive test. Will be nice if England are blown away by Starc and Cummins in the second innings.

Just a reminder that Maxwell just hit a double ton batting at three against three test match bowlers.

yeah but Victorian batsmen turn into ****ing Bradman-esque creatures when playing at North Sydney
He can come on for Handscomb if Darsh scores runs here. Pete hasn’t done much in a while and there should only be one Victorian in the test side at a time, maximum.

Edit: actually, Handscomb’s lack of runs has really snuck under the radar in the lead up to the series.

The Aussie batting line up for the 2nd test should be:

Warner
Khawaja
Maxwell
Smith
Handscomb
Marsh
Nevill

way ahead of you. maxy can replace many people in the team

basically i need marsh and paine to go asap and then starc and co to stay in long enough for TPC to ton up

actually i guess marsh can stay in because Comb Boy can be dropped for Maxy

International Captain
What if Usman's inability to play spin is rooted in a deep seated refusal to confirm to cricketing stereotypes he had faced growing up

"Hey look now, you're the brown kid, you're kind are naturally gifted at playing spin"

"NO!"
Ha maybe. I wish he had an equally defiant attitude to reject victim status and just accept the reason he gets dropped is down to poor form and technical deficiencies

Khawaja opening gives him some time to score runs against Anderson and Broad before being taken out by TheBeard.
