I’m a fan of Ed and he’s actually a really good bloke. Very thoughtful and considered in his views on not just Cricket but on life in general. Does some great work with Not For Sale as well. But I don’t think he’s a great dressing room fit tbh, and I understand his relationship with the vice captain is allegedly toxic.
I don't know whether to be surprised or unsurprised at this feud of the authors.

Top four Aussie quicks (the new south Welshmen and Bird) all rested from the third round of the Shield.

Am I right in saying that means Haze has only had the one game ahead of the Gabba?
Yep. I get why you'd rest Starc and Cummins, but Haze needed another game.

Does the CA site stream the test matches in Australia and if so is there any charge?

Apparently Collingwood substituted Ball on the field today

Honestly just get him in the squad, the way this tour has started he'll be bowling first change come Gabba. Will probably score more runs than Ballance/Malan too.

Yeah to both. An annual CA pass (it’s pretty cheap) gets you ********* of all home matches for a year, international and domestic

Well obviously it i s going to be region blocked or it would conflict with the BT Sports rights to the series.
Yes, the British paywall-ECB clique would have closed that potential loop hole off immediately. There is a list of countries if you look at that (just about everywhere but Britain!) but you can only buy a year pass and pay more for it ($49.99). The Australians can buy a cheap day pass and their year pass is $20.00 cheaper.

The Shield games are all free though - just make a free ID. I've been enjoying the first two rounds of the Sheffield Shield and I am not geographically blocked out which is surprising. The first Ashes tour match was up on there also. CA have a great service really; I wish the ECB would do something similar with our Championship, putting them all up free like that - even if it was just a two camera set-up at long stop/straight hit. Some of the counties' websites are beginning to produce this service. Sky tried to put the kibosh on it; they were such pricks that even the ECB defended the counties. The ECB are putting up more clips now so they seem to be heading in that sort of direction.

Yeah it’s meant to be a wet summer this year. I’d say it will make the farmers happy, but it won’t because nothing makes farmers happy.
Subsidies and rorts courtesy of the Nats make em happy for a little while. Until they work out what the next rort they are 'entitled' to is.

I love how on cricinfo the take note of who's been withdrawn from the next shield round and say 'Australia's Ashes pace attack revealed'.

Yeah, like it was such a secret beforehand.
