Makes me feel that the players really deserve whatever pay rises they can get having to spend this much time in Asia. And it's not the fun sort of Asia like Bali or Phuket.

Yeah it would have been a lot better if this happened straight after the tests. Interest would have been so much higher.

I actually like having the LO tour seperated from the test tour. Its pretty clear Aussies dont like being in the SC for 2 or 3 months straight and I think it is the same case with India going to Australia. So splitting these tours should give us the best versions of the touring sides, at least in theory. I hope India does the same. Also, our home seasons will always clash with RSA, Australia, and NZ as its better when we stage our home season in our winter. So this might help out with the scheduling too.

I know Australian fans and media (and possibly the cricketers themselves) tend to write off such ODI tours but I think they're a pretty good guide for where the Australian side is at.
It probably meant less for the previous WC when Australia was playing at home and various issues were being masked but a World Cup in England (where Australia have failed in multiple Champions Trophies) means you have to adjust and bring different skill sets and temperaments to situations and I just don't see it with this lineup over the past 18 months. Unless something changes pretty substantially over the next 15-18 months can't really see Australia being a title contender in 2019.
