As you suggest, there's no accounting for personal preferences.
As a Palace fan, I just find myself increasingly contemptuous of the useless ***** who turn out for them nowadays. Maybe they believe the bullshit about how 'talented' the squad is. No it ****ing isn't, apart from a couple of exceptions who occasionally produce the goods. A genuinely talented squad would not have performed like this lot have since January 2016.

Apart from Cabaye there is no real quality in the squad at all I'd say.

The other notable/big name players are all pretty iffy. Benteke is an upmarket Heskey, Townsend is very mediocre, and the rest are mostly journeymen plodders. And how Jason Puncheon has lasted as long as he has at this level is a total mystery.

Can't believe this. Ridiculous start for the side tipped to finish bottom before a ball was kicked. 5 points clear at the top. It'll never last but it sure beats trying to work out where the wins will come from to stop up.

Only a few games in, but one rather suspects Lemina won't be at Southampton for all that long. Bloke looked really good today.

If anything, that result today starts a squeeze on us. Even if we win 4-0 for the 3rd time in 5 games, we'll still not topple City. For a team that hasn't been free scoring for a long time, dropping behind on GD so early is effectively handing an extra point to City. Not an issue if were up on points, but I can't see us building a decent buffer based on the opening games of the season.
