The Triple Crown Title Match sounds awesome. Gives me an excuse to check out this Kento Miyahara guy for the first time.

I skipped through most of the AJPW pre-amble. Dory Funk looked like he wandered into the ring out of the dementia ward, sad stuff to watch. Last 4 matches were awesome, main event was a 5-star match IMO.

I haven't watched all of it but the main event and tag match was great, however the Kojima match was a disappointment (by design I think). There's history behind the match but you wouldn't have known that from the match they worked.

Yeah someone shared this in one of my Discords so I was aware of the history, at least tangentially.

Miyahara really is a fantastic worker. I really hope he does end up doing G1 or something next year, would be fantastic to see him in the ring with guys like Okada, Omega, Tanahashi etc. On the subject of that match, Ishikawa's back was a wasteland. I don't know a lot about him but I do know he's been a deathmatch guy and managed to find some seriously insane light-tube matches of his online. Am I the only one who finds deathmatch wrestling awful to the point of genuinely feeling sick at the thought? Couldn't think of something I'd like to watch less for entertainment (within reason, of course). Find it such a weird thing to be a fan of.

That was the most natural Reigns has ever sounded in a promo. It's annoying that Cena gets the last word and then his opponent just stands there taking it like a chump. They did it in his feud with Miz, too.

Found it pretty amusing how Cena...yes Cena got to accuse Reigns of being a soulless corporate creation. It worked though, because his delivery is just so damn good. I do wish they hadn't gone down the "you're a part timer, while I work my ass off thing" though. It never works for me.

Feel like it's probably more applicable to the Rock, he was only a full-time guy for around 8 years. John's been one for close to 15 years.

Not saying it's much of a story to go with, but Cena is the last person it should be thrown at IMO. He has done everything and more for well over a decade, few do that.

That Cena Reigns segment was gold

Just saw it. Brutal, Roman looked so out of his depth against Cena on the mic even in a worked shoot. Piqued my interest though, will definitely follow this feud.

Really enjoyed that segment myself. Cena might have buried Reigns a bit, but unlike the time he did the same with the Miz a few months back I suspect Reigns will actually win this one (in the end anyway, maybe not the next match), so it might not matter so much.

Either way, this was Cena at near close to his best imo. He's so good when he's like this. Hopefully the awful comedy John Cena can be retired permanently.

Here's the thing, I think it's ok for guys to get 'buried' on the mic. It's not like a match where you can do nothing about the result. Be good enough and you can hold your own in the segment. Cena was amazing and brought his A game as usual. Reigns was .... fine. But still awkward. Thats not Cena's fault. Verbally destroying your opponent adds heat and is entertaining, that's all that should matter. It's not as though Reigns has bee destroyed beyond repair or anything. No promo can do that, while a poorly booked match can.

I personally hope the feud is long and bloody... they can potentially have some great matches and more segments like this one. A one and done at No Mercy would be balls.
