do you think Kumar Sangakarra would be a great player in any Test team around the world?
Yes, but imagine if he had to keep his whole career instead of for a short part of it. Would he look as great of a batsman in those circumstances,

Well see, Sangakarra at the start of his career was a keeper who was just an okay batsman. If it were not for playing International cricket for Sri Lanka, its unlikely he'd have been able to raise his batsmanship up to the level where he became an ATG. If it were not due to SL needing a keeper around the time of his debut, he might have never got his break in the side, and end up leaving cricket to purse a career in Law.

Point being, if you don't rate Shakib because you think his greatness is in large part due to having the right circumstances, you should logically not rate Sanga either.

When have I ever not rated Shakib?

I said only that his all round ability is brought about by a combination of his talents and the needs of Bangladesh. Were he to play for a different nation he'd be used very differently and would have better bowling/batting stats at the expense of the other discipline.

whats the point of saying that. It applies to every cricketer to have every played, does it not?

If Shane Warne was born 15 years later and ended up being one of the spinners use to replace the hole left by Stuart MacGill's 100 test long career, he would have had 3 bad Tests and dropped for being a unfit, raw and having a bad attitude. Heck, if Shane Warne was born Indian he might never have been a spinner and become a mediocre Ranji batsman instead. If Hadlee was born English he might have never been more than a country trundler. If Lillee was born Pakistani he might have taken one look at the cricket pitches in the country and given up cricket to become a squash player.

These are meaningless riders to add next to a great player's accomplishments. Of course they are a product of their circumstances and environments. Every human being is. Why is this a problem to you.

I really miss that young Shaun Marsh. So much potential you know
Mark Waugh on the radio yesterday indicated Shaun's brother is still the young allrounder Australia is looking for, and has loads of potential too.

Taijul averages 12 with a solitary fifty in Bangladeshi domestic cricket.

Every run he can score from here on out is a bonus.

16 runs have been scored so far today, all in boundaries

Taijul's done his job. Would have been nicer if he could have stuck around longer, but can't expect too much.

Kayes 2.0 in now, and I wonder if him and Tamim are going to do a better job of rotating the strike than Tamim and Taijul were managing. It is possible they decided that Tamim would handle Cummins and Taijul could tackle Lyon though.

It would be a mistake to just get in a shell and defend everything whilst also waiting for bad balls to hit for four. They need to keep taking the ones and twos and not let the bowlers settle into a rhythm against them.
