After having watched SL last year, this is a bit of a surprise tbh. They are getting pummeled left and right and not just 'losing'. Don't think there was any session in this entire series where SL had held their own.

this cant be right considering Mendis and Dimuth had a couple of decent partnerships

Impressive from India, but it's been a pretty terrible series to watch from a neutral POV.

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah.. I would say we need to see how SL go against Pakistan before we conclude stuff. In terms of watch-ability though, I am sure it must have been very disappointing for neutrals.

as a fan of both Mendis and Dimuth, it's good to see them notch up some runs finally

also enjoyed seeing Sandakan get a michelle

There is talent there they just need to click at the same time. Also in their defence India are becoming a powerhouse

This test series was more about how-unstoppable-India-is-within-the-subcontinent than SL's incompetence.

Reckon this Indian team can beat almost any team in the history of test cricket in these conditions. (just not sure about Bradman's Australia that had both O'Reilly and Grimmett.)

SL has the tools to be a good side in time. Its important the SL board keeps them out of the politics and does their best to ensure players get what they need to help them achieve their potential.

I hope we take care of Yadav and Shami because with Kuldeep and Pandya's emergence, this is now finally looking like a world class side. No meaningless ODIs for either of them. Shastri says he's there to manage the team; he will have earned his keep if he simply manages these two.

India's best chance to win at SA is coming up this November.

If Ash gets 8 wickets in his next three tests, he will become the fastest bowler to 300 test wickets beating Lillee. Wag.

this bit is funny though, aren't Bird/Sayers more mid 80s full of a length kind of bowlers?
Not even that. Bird was low 130's last summer and Sayers is high 120's. Richardson's high 130's isn't exactly a great short ball bowler.

My opinion on Pandya barely changed this series tbh. I was pretty confident he had a decent amount of talent with the bat but we don't need the extra batting anywhere near as much as the extra bowling overseas. If he gives us a quick 50 here and there in SA/Eng/Aus but isn't good enough with the ball and is relegated to 5-6 overs a day it'll be a total waste. He has to be good enough to handle a 15-20 over workload and we saw no real evidence of that in this series.

Thought Kohli missed a trick big time by not giving him more to do with the ball. If he's not being tested now and is just thrown into the series in SA with the assumption that he'll just start to bowl well, it'll be a disaster.
