Hmmm. The tour to South Africa has not been cancelled. The number of tests was never confirmed, even in the FTP as far as I know. There was talk that RSA were "hoping" to have 4 tests against India in the series. And most importantly, the insinuation from Marc was that the series was being scheduled between Sri Lanka and India because they were "weak" opposition. They may be the Windies of the 80s or the Aussies of the noughties and this series would have happened, as it is a return favor for SLC voting with the BCCI. So his post was unsubstantiated drivel, at best. Very interesting that that is what passes for a "Reasonable" person in your mind though.

Gotta say, its been one impressive batting display this time out by SL. They seem to have found that happy balance between attack and defense and most importantly, understanding how positive batting, attacking shots and runs can work towards helping you survive on a tough track. To be fair, the pitch has slowed down a lot since the first session as well so as I pointed out yesterday, the spin being slow helps batsmen who are good enough to play it easily.

Obviously they have a long way to go but some encouraging signs for them for sure. Jadeja and Ashwin looked pretty frustrating and didn't have many answers against the sweep. Wouldn't be surprised if we chased down a target this time if they set us one instead of lollapsing .
