Probably Nadal officially, all those 0-pointers from the clay season are going to stick with Federer.
Fed typically has a far better time after the clay season compared to Nadal though. Hoping for one more YE#1 from him although he doesn't seem to care about rankings now.

Whatever it takes!!!
Safin was just such an ATG lost to the game. I feel he could have been better than Nadal, Novak and Murray and seriously challenged Federer. What a criminal waste of talent and ability. :(

Just read this btw. Forget MS Dhoni and Sachin, THIS is the sportsman's story that needs to be told as a movie.

Safin had the all-world talent but did not have the drive or the mental toughness of the others you mentioned...

I would say more of the focus than actual mental toughness. Anyways, one leads to the other, so I am just being pedantic. He was a criminal waste of talent and ability though as far as tennis goes. :(

At his best, he was very, very, very good. Also put in a brilliant performance against Sampras in the 2000 USO final. Injuries etc. didn't help.

Yuki Bhambri, World No. 200 from India beat Gael Monfils in Washington. That's probably the biggest singles win by an Indian in men's tennis in a long, long time (since Paes's bronze medal in Atlanta?).

Yeah, that was random. That was also in one of those US Open buildup tournaments IIRC.

More importantly, he won some crucial Davis Cup singles matches for us in the '90s. The tie in France in '93 or so was an absolute epic..
