I do not agree with either of you. Honest to god he is express pace when you see him bowl live. Terrifying. Probably the best spell of bowling I've seen in ages. And as to tiers of cricket I can only point you back to the 2015 Ashes.

mark wood has done absolutely nothing to warrant being tagged 'high class'.
Playing for Durham is enough for some around here.

I quite like him, but he's injury-prone, so can't really afford to bowl badly when he's fit, he ain't no Ryan Harris or Simon Jones.

PS
Worcs will probably be promoted and had a full team (Ali and Hastings) so the division 2 thing is academic.

he took 10 @ 40 in the 2015 ashes. he bowled some ok spells but was a sideshow.

i don't care how fast he is or how aesthetically pleasing he is. as long as he keeps bowling too short and struggling to take any wickets his position in the squad should be highly scrutinised.

He's average, bowls too short and isn't fast enough to be a proper enforcer. In team by default but running out of chances

Also Joe Root faced him in the T20 semi final last year and said something along the lines of, ''he was the fastest bowler he'd ever seen''. He made Root look like a bunny. It is probably on youtube.

I rate him higher than Stokes bowling (just to show this is not some insular Durham thing). Decent tailender also.

Blimey, that ball went, was sure he edged it.

Dawson to take 8 in the second innings for a MOM 10fer.

Well I'll just have to disagree with all of you (not for the first time). He has just had a bad day at the office here.

have to say, just don't see him as a Test Bowler, think Coverton orTcurran (doesn't work as well that one) would be better, but I guess you can't argue with TRJ.
yeah i get that.

he's probably a yard too slow. but there is no obvious candidate screaming out for selection so we have to go next cab off the rank and he's earnt that spot. especially considering the absolutely terrible pitches he has to bowl on at lords.

25 wickets @37 says different.
I have him at 35.60. He has only played nine tests? His (international) career was just getting going before his ankle broke down (twice). If he remains fit he will be one of the key performers for England. He bowlers low slung skidders at 87 mph.

Maharaj has wasted great conditions here, not really created many chances just bowled same stock line and length.

Toby Roland-Jones has 339 wickets @ 25. Guess he is a certainty to do well and should be straight in for Wood?
