Unless Stokes and Moeen have lost a bit of potency with the ball then you could easily get rid of one of the 4 specialist bowlers and play an extra batsman. It's hard to justify needing 6 genuine bowling options.

Stand by this, even more so now that Moeen's comfortably out-bowled Dawson. Just pick an extra batsman rather than waste a spot with a bowler you don't need.

I really think Dawson was the worst option for that spot, besides perhaps another right arm seamer who can't bat.

It's as though they've picked him to 'top up' Moeen. Picking an inferior version of what you've already got is dumb.

Pick a batsman. Pick a keeper. Pick Rashid. Pick ****ing Tymal Mills to bowl four overs a day.

Rabada is very talented but prone to Kyrgios moments

Factor in the Kolpaks and they may well be ****ed for a good few years unless they unearth some players with a backbone fast

Keeping South Africa to around 300 is definitely on, but equally South Africa could get almost anything from here if one or both of the remaining main bats sticks around. What a day to bring this up. Tbf, I was in the "Moeen is a fine spinner" camp but then seeing Pakistan capitalise on him as the major scoring option and Moeen basically releasing all the pressure created by seamers made me doubt that. But glad to see him deliver as a front line spinner again.

Insane that South Africa's most dangerous batsman is yet to enter with the side 5 down. This puts some extra unnecessary pressure on Bavuma as if he goes first, QdK won't have as much time to get in.
