England can lose to NZ and Bangladesh can still make it. In fact this is the better scenario for Bangladesh......as long as NZ win by a small margin because then Bangladesh will be required to win by a small margin too..Bangladesh beating NZ and then England winning the rest of their games would be so amazing.
That's not exactly how it works. Maybe if England rest a bunch of players but I don't see that happening in such a short tournament.England can lose to NZ and Bangladesh can still make it. Their NRR is still quite intact.
In fact, if England win today and then if Australia defeat Eng, both NZ & Bangladesh are out. This is quite probable because after 2 wins England won't be in a do or die situation, whereas Aus will be very hungry for a win..
So it's probably better for Bangladesh if NZ win today so that Aus v Eng game has no bearing on them because both will then be on effectively just 1 win each (2 points) and only the winner will go through and mostly probably the same will apply to the NZ v Bangla game! So Bangladesh will then have their fate in their own hands..
This is the ideal scenario for them as opposed to the one everyone is mentioning, where England wins both their games
But relying on England winning their two games is a worse scenario for Bangladesh than the scenario of NZ beating England, which would turn the last two group games into virtual quarter finals..That's not exactly how it works. Maybe if England rest a bunch of players but I don't see that happening in such a short tournament.
Last week. That was our summer. Is there a time of year in England with tolerable weather? If so surely you'd hold the tournament then
Australia can barely generate interest in cricket beyond Ashes and India series. A world tournament would be a damp squib there.A World T20 would be massive in Australia, I'm not so sure about a CT though.
I love it when Burgey bitesLike the last WC? Kidding yourself. Was a great tourney
Would it be possible for you to post in the correct thread once in the tournament?Looks like these two have jamfested their way through the threatening opening overs.
Yepp this is why C9's coverage of cricket in Australia is such a rip roaring success and last summer's season had CA laughing their way to the bank.Like the last WC? Kidding yourself. Was a great tourney
