If the Bangladesh tour does go ahead later this year, how can Warner be justified being picked on their horses-for-courses policy? Will take some nerve to do it considering Warner's stature in the side.

Its a track that accentuates the opposition's strength much more than ours. We are batting last. And their spinners are much better equipped at utilizing bouncy tracks with little turn than ours. Not to forget, their seamers are amongst the best in the world.
You clearly have a different understanding of what "shellacking" means than I do.

Whatever it takes!!!
Well, given the expectations and the forms of the sides leading in, I would say 1-2 at home with a test loss that definitely was a shellacking is an overall shellacking as well. :p

Now just let me do my stuff at peace. :)

Our best chance of getting Smith out is to take a wicket late in the day, hope they send Haze out as nightwatchman and wait till he runs Smith out.

I know this could go wrong but I wouldn't mind a few short ones to Smith on this pitch. I know we can go for runs but we really need to get him out.

Just think you gotta go back to basics with Smith more than anything else. Good line on the 4th or 5th stump. Tight offside field and ensure he does not get the singles that get him going so much. He may still score runs but at least you can plan your field and ensure he will get out if he makes a mistake. At the moment, with all his moving around the crease, teams are getting sucked into trying too many different things.

I don't feel like the pitch has really significantly deterioriated. So I think India have a good chance all the way up to a 300ish chase. Obviously you could defend a lot less than that but I don't think it's at Pune/Bangalore levels in terms of chasing difficulty yet. Helps that it will probably be just about decided within 4 days also.

But the pacers have something in it for them unlike in Bangalore/Pune. 4th innings chases are always tough no matter what, especially with this largely out of form Indian batting line up.
