India have it in the bag. They'll come back strong and be absolutely brutal. Genuinely getting worried.

tbf it's only in 50 over stuff that SOK's record is poor. He's been a very handy T20 player for a long time including of course scoring 48 opening the batting in BBL 01 final and getting through his 4 overs for 22 to play a big part in winning it for the Sixers. Then he followed that up opening the bowling in the T20 Champions League Final and took 1/11 off his 4 overs. His T20i record isn't bad. Wouldn't be pulling Zamps out for him, but there've been worse picks than SOK at T20i level.

Even calling his List A record poor is probably over-egging it. He doesn't take wickets, but his eco is under 4.9 which is pretty tight. Wouldn't expect to ever see him play an ODI, but he does his job for the Bl00s.

Warne - he's a white ball bowler - crazy talk.

The more I think about it, the more I think it would be a really good thing for world cricket if Australia were to win this match

India won a load of test already this home season. They were on the verge of irreversible big head before last match. A loss here could release more head puss so they don't explode.
Australia have paid a fair price for another win with many sub continent losses. Like India, wins at home have become stale tasting. SA's recent sauce could not hide the staleinity.
England just lost there and would surely feel the ledger was balanced if some of their 'convicts' put their other colony in order.
South Africa would feel, having just bested Australia, that they are the premier world team.
New Zealand would feel that good feeling you get when your big brother goes and punches up the bully.
Sri Lanka would have that warm feeling you get when you see your big brother get punched up.
Pakistan would feel good, like you do, when you see your neighbour struggling with a load.
West Indies would feel good because India may stop playing tests and focus on even more T20 cricket.
Bangladesh would feel good again that Australia deems them unworthy of touring.

Everyone wins!

If Starc and Haze can be negated, India will win. But that is a big IF.
That's not a big IF. Starc and Haze were negated last game.

To say 'India will win' you need to say 'negate Stark and Haze AND Keef n' Lyon AND dismiss Warner, Renshaw, TPC and Starc for lows both times AND keep the ball away from Handscombe AND keep the rain at bay'. Now THAT is a big IF.

They only bowled 14 overs between them last game. They'll be nice and fresh and ready to dine out this game.

As long as they don't dine out before the game and get the Renshaws

lol teething troubles with the DRS, apparently. As if the rest of the world brought that knowledge from the womb. Teams should bar impulsive personalities from asking for reviews. Restrict batsmen to appeals only in cases of inside edges. etc, etc. It's common sense, really.

Whatever it takes!!!
To be fair though, even the impulsive guys can get better at DRS over time. Or at least realize that they are impulsive and consider the opinion of other cooler heads. I think real issue for India is that Saha is hopeless with DRS really. Guy has no idea if there is a nick, or if it was pad first etc. The only thing he is seemingly good for is judging if the ball would have down the leg side or something, since you can kinda make that out with how he moves but otherwise, he is just an absolute baggage when it comes to DRS. And between him as our keeper, Ashwin and Jadeja as our premier bowlers, Virat as the captain and the man love of his for anyone who can bowl a ball at 140+ Ks, we will always be the absolute garbage when it comes to DRS. :(

Unless they make it a rule that Kumble has to approve DRS reviews from the dug out or something..

I disagree with that. Yes, Keefe and Lyon did great last game. But the damage was done by Starc and Haze. They took out the key batsmen. And psychologically, the Indian batsmen will feast on spin bowlers once they negate the pacers without damage. On the batting front, I am hoping that Ash and Jaddu will take care of that this time.

And so it begins

Lol.. TJB is the one trying to Gambhir hard here. I expected Australian bowlers to pose the biggest threat to our batters, that part was no Gambhiring. I just expected our bowlers to get them out for a bit less and our batters to suck a bit less. Now that both have happened, I think it is totally fair to state that Aussies are the favorites going into this test and should win this test and/or the series unless India can do something dramatic. Now given we are playing at home, there is more chance of us pulling some great cricket out of the bag, but it is like 35% (and would have been 10% if we were playing away).

I seriously think Australia and Aussie supporters should be disappointed if Australia lose this series from here. Heck, I would be disappointed if the series was even drawn if I were an Aussie supporter. A win in the first test does not always mean the other side gets a huge advantage, but when the win was this massive and this demoralizing to the opposition and the opposition is under intense pressure as it is, this being a home series, I think it is totally fair to say Australia start as favorites and given how dominant the display was at Pune with bat, ball and in the field, I do not see how India can win unless the Aussie standards slip up and/or India take their game up a million notches.

can imagine the pitch for bangalore. looking slightly on the greenish side. some movement for the bowlers helped by moisture also. but overall batting should not be a problem.

I think I am Warneying a bit here but I strongly believe that these 2 are very crucial.
