I just don't understand the selectors at all this season, it's gambling with -EV imo.

Patel, really? I mean I love the man, but what is the point in having him in the squad? You've got KW who can act as a 3rd spinner if needed. Plus CdG has bowled really well this series so that 6th bowler option should be covered.

If they're gonna bring Ronchi back might as well just slot him at the top of the order in place of Latham, if he makes 0 there or at 7 it doesnt matter really. The sooner they bring Phillips in the better imo, might as well train him up now.

Poor NZC - shift the game from Hawkes Bay & of course it's sunny there and forecast for rain in Hamilton. The rejigged NZ line-up should be too strong at Seddon Park.

I'm feeling a lot better about my call that Broom wouldn't play beyond this season. That said, still pretty rough for him to get canned so fast.

Going back to the earlier discussion, yes there's some sense in having Patel around for the Champion's trophy, but they're really dicking Sodhi around in the process.

Sodhi more likely to win an ODI, Patel more likely to be economical on a high scoring pitch IMO. If this is a raging turner it's a terrible call.

Fair. Commentary seems to be it won't turn as much as the last Hamilton match.

If they were going to do this they should have just picked Jeets from the start of the series instead of Sodhi.
