If Rollins "retires" the HHH wrestling character at least for a few years, and moves him into a McMahon style presence I'd be absolutely fine with it still being the big bad faction.

A loose faction of KO, Joe, and that little **** lord from the UK tournament with the weasel face who Regal looks like he wants to kill. Would be great. Reckon Balor would fit right in too, but no need to turn him anytime soon, and hes a bloke you could turn in a dozen ways anyway.

So The Rock called CM Punk after Raw went off air.

Would be a hilarious way for the sides to start talking again.

The tag division is definitely the worst thing about the Smackdown brand. Vaudevillains, Breezango, Ascension, Slater/Rhyno, Hype Bros, etc. Most of them are just really low level guys. Even American Alpha, without the crutch of the NXT setting, feel like a shell of their former selves.

They need more segments dedicated to showing the characters/personalities of the teams. Not the overly rehearsed backstage stuff, but actual in ring promos, contract signings, etc. I can't even remember the last time AA did that. It worked wonders for the women. Now you have like half a dozen credible performers.
This is what I'm talking about. More of this please.

I seriously recommend all fans to check out that Uso promo. Top tier tag promo. One of the best I've ever seen honestly.

I'm wondering if it's worth going through all of Meltzer's 5 star matches.

Yeaaah, so watch this if you haven't already. Pretty ****ing great. Flair's always been Evolution Flair to me, but here I can see why people rate him as one of the best. He has like 40 women lining the aisles of his entrance ffs, and then Steamboat comes out with his family. The selling/facial expressions alone were enough to get me emotionally invested in the match. I can see why the chops became a thing, but I'd never seen them done quite like this. Definitely had a big match feel and the commentary was refreshingly great. A wild Jim Ross appears. Weird to see him actually kind of young. His commentary here glaringly exposes how **** the current WWE commentary is, though.

I made a rookie mistake by accidentally watching the last of the trilogy, but meh.

Just watched WM23. Quite an underrated show I think. Some really good matches.

On a related note, people always **** on Cena for him beating the Nexus at Summerslam after taking a DDT on the floor outside the ring, but his match with HBK here contains an even more egregious example of this sort of thing. There's a spot where Cena kicks out of a piledriver onto the ring steps ffs. Odd that the Nexus business is always remembered and brought up but this one never is. I guess it's probably because HBK was perma over by this point and the Nexus were basicallly buried forever at that point, but still.

Other random thoughts about the show:

- Good as the MITB match was, Edge and Randy Orton really ought to have had a singles match against each other to end the whole Rated RKO storyline. I guess they probably would have if HHH hadn't ended up getting injured a few months beforehand.

- It was really dumb how at the start of the main event JR and King put over John Cena for being wise for refusing to shake HBK's hand, but at the end of the match crticise HBK for refusing to shake Cena's hand.

- Ashley Massaro really was total garbage. It might just be because we are now spoiled with great women's matches all the time, but I never remembered her to be as bad as she was on this show. Really terrible match with Melina.
