what's mehedi's thing btw? Looks a pretty straight up orthodox offie so far.
Basically that. Puts huge amounts of revs on the ball tho, so gets drift and sharp turn and bounce. Has a nice arm ball. Was basically unplayable in BD, but on a flatter pitch here you're seeing the lack of experience and guile. The revs on the ball makes it come off the bat nicely, and there are plenty of gaps for him to be milked into.

Geeze that's soft. Wheres your concentration gone, Kane? Turning into Latham.
You see so many batsmen do this, yet people underesell how important mental strength and concentration is, and thus try to write off guys like Steve Smith as being not as good.

It's really the difference between a good batsman and a great one.

Why on earth is Kane still compared to Kohl, Smith and Root.

A bit of a joke... QdK should be in that group ahead of Kane.

Massive difference in quality between those 3 and Kane.

Nailed it, Kane is a good batsmen who had a few great years against weak sides or on easy wickets. His record against good attacks in their backyard is nowhere good enough for a so called world class batsmen. He's definitely not ATG caliber.

Yeah Miraz's thing is essentially that he's stupidly good at being an orthodox offie for a 19 year old. Orthodox offies are still always going to find it very hard to be big attacking weapons in Wellington though, particularly on Day 3.

Taylor is our only hope of avoiding a huge first innings deficit, he's the only batsmen capable of scoring big.

Basically Shakib and Miraz need to bowl it slow and tease the batsmen. Let them work the ball for ones and twos, encourage them to either use their feet or go for a big shot in order to get the boundaries.

Taskin is clearly the main strike weapon. He'll be bowling in bursts with plenty of slips looking to find/beat both edges.

Kamrul is the man there to reverse swing it and bowl bouncers. Will go for runs tho because he's crap.

Roy I still am not sure on. Seems back of a length, keep it tight. Not bad but I don't see what his wicket taking options are. Just build pressure and bowl dry?

Essentially BD just need to stick at it, keep trying, wait for NZ's batsmen to make mistakes, and then hold on to the catches as they come.

Ross en route to his blazing 200 here.

Oooh Taskin

He's finding and beating both edges when he gets it at that right length. Has to just keep plugging away there.

Everyone raves on about how good Kane is to watch, but I much prefer watching Taylor and Guptill tbh..

His weapon is his inswingers with the new ball. It's been tapped out so he'll just look to build pressure as you said, but I reckon he'll have an 'on' day with that new ball eventually if Bangladesh start getting more away Tests, particularly given how many left handed top order bats there are in Test cricket at the moment.
