Ashwin already having the 9th greatest career ever seems very off.

Agree wholeheartedly with Kohli being the worst fielder though :p

Seems crazy but his numbers are insane.. he arguably has had a better career than Grimmett so far and if you try to discount Ashwin's achievements you have to similarly penalize other short careers as well.

Consider for example that he has more 5 wicket hauls than Lillee, Ambrose or Imran in about 30-40 less test matches - at a certain point you have to acknowledge that.

Ashwin's 5/10 wicket hauls, MoTM, MoTS stats are quite staggering and already reaching Kumble territory. IMHO, he has already surpassed Harbhajan on impact even though he's around 150 wickets behind him on aggregate.

Having said that, Harbhajan will always have the 2001 Australia series over everyone else.

why do you call it best current rating? that is confusing. Shouldn't it be simply 'best rating' because the 'best current rating' must surely be the 'current rating'

Yep good call.

Also viriya a minor thing, but is there any chance you can allow an option to view more per page. If readers could select 50, 100 or all on the page would be just a little easier to navigate instead of clicking next per 15.

The rankings are starting to take shape, good to see.

I just want to clarify that I'm not trying to be a smart arse - just a legitimate observation. I'm a fan of your efforts here.

Just to distinguish between current, career and performance ratings.

Thanks and I'll put that on the list.

It's probably an issue with the name as well.. maybe it should be renamed "form" rating.

Test update:

- Younis Khan's 175* rated #8 all-time: cricrate | Performance Ratings - Test Batting
- Herath replaced by Ashwin at the top, Rabada moves to #3: cricrate | Current Ratings - Test Bowling
Is there a dead rubber penalty at all? Most people would automatically discount any performance in a losing dead rubber as not worth that much. EDIT: Ah, I see it isn't. I'd find a way to add series result in to be honest, it feels weird that dead rubber performances are equally weighted with the rest.

Also, is there a way to extend the timescale on the "Timeframe" display?

It is fine to call the Aussie attack good, but I don't really see how this attack could benefit a bat that much. Haze, Starc and then 2 30+ average spinners and Cartwright on debut was the 2nd weakest attack we picked this summer. I haven't looked up player vs player but I would assume Younus made most of his runs against the spinners too.

I've wanted to add that as a feature but found it hard to find an easy way to figure that out programmatically.. I agree that dead rubbers should be discounted (butchers 173 another good example). I'll put it on the list.

It was a top innings, but #8 all time feels far too high. What pushed it that high up the list?
- high score
- not a lot of support (only azhar)
- 56℅ of total
- very good attack (80℅ of the overs were bowled by Starc Hazlewood and Lyon who have an average current rating of 700+.
- came into bat at 6/2
- bat through the innings
- away game

I also agree that it's a little too high on the list. I think that feeling is partly because the match was a dead rubber and Pakistan still lost pretty hard but I do think it should be at least in the top 100.
