Yeah, but judging from his technique, he should average closer to 50 or even 50+. Maybe my view is a bit clouded, since I've always been somewhat of a Bell-fan.

Anyway, in test cricket, shot selection and concentration are probably just as important as talent and technique.
Bell's technique was always overrated.

Think Rillee will hang on, he has become a fixture in the LO stuff and should play quite a bit over the next 6 months (barring injury)
.
Be strange if he did go the Kolpak route considering the impact he made in the Australian series and that South Africa were keeping out Amla, statistically one of the best of all-time in ODIs, to have Rilee continue to play.

Can't get over how much Keshav Maharaj has improved as a cricketer. Used yo just give his wicket away as a batsman, his fielding was shocking and he was a standard spinner but in the last 2/3 years the improvement in every facet is outstanding.

Has bowled with great control and his batting has provided some decent quick runs, nice extension to SA batting line-up.

Has there been a batsman who aesthetically was more pleasing than JP Duminy and averaged less than him? 30 of the easiest on the eye runs you could see and then he misses a ball which shouldn’t be missed.
Carl Hooper.

Graeme Hick ?

Mark Ramprakash probably falls in the technique category and not aesthetics.

Carl Hooper another. Not sure what average he finished with, other than "decidedly".

Edit: note to self, read other posts.

Rabada

I'm pretty envious of South Africa's seemingly inexhaustible fast bowling stocks.

Yeah very poor from SL. They haven't even put up a pretense of a fight in this game, or the series actually. Not that they were expected to do much. But this is just abysmal.

Woeful, Sri Lanka.

Poor Mathews has atleast been trying to fight and get some runs but can't convert his starts.

Cheers Abbo. 39 test wickets unfortunately could have been more. Can't blame your decision. Pity CSA wasn't in constant communication with you which they should have been. But CSA are basically in governments hands so these sorts of situations are probably high fived because it makes their situation of picking 5 white players easier.
