***Official*** Pakistan in Australia 2016/17

Why is he in the squad then?
Got to blame Inzy who is is the main selector. Its somewhat concerning though that the 2 back up pacers have such question marks over them which anyone who has ever watched them play would share.

I suppose its either Inzy not looking outside his comfort zone, or he thinks the alternatives in Pakistan aren't as good.

I am glad at least they put up a fight. Thanks in part to Steve Smith's declaration
Smithy is still learning his craft.. His declaration and decision to not enforce the follow on was ruled by a misconception that the Gabba deck was going to go nutso after dark. Not only was the traditional bounce and carry missing, so was the movement usually associated with the pinkie in the twilite.

The more I watch these day night matches, the more I am convinced that the swing in the evening is almost entirely a function of how much grass you leave on the pitch. After the first day night test, groundsmen are realising that the ball doesn't deteriorate as fast as they expected. So I would expect the grass to be cut down and the evening swing to be less of a factor going forward.

Seems that way so far, but we've had such a small sample that it could be a multitude of other factors

Whatever it takes!!!
It will be a factor in places where it swung and did more even in D/N ODI games, like South Africa or India in the winter. In Mohali for instance, Anderson turned into the England version for a spell at the end of Day 2 when bowling with the second new ball at Pujara and Kohli and Ashwin, when the lights were on and it was a cold evening breaking in.

I still wouldn't be all that happy if my coach talked about me like that in public.
You referring to Sohail and Imran?

If so, yeah completely agree as at least one of them will probably play a test this tour when you consider how dodgy Rahat is. You would think Arthur would know better.

Arthur seems to be a terrible man manager. He can't control himself.

Very, very happy that Australia didn't lose this. Atta boy Starc! Hope Aus can take this confidence into Melbourne and Sydney. Anything less than 3-0 would be disappointing. Pakistan haven't won a test in Australia since the 90s, can't let that record change.

Funny you would disappear when the heat was on then return for chest-thumping.. Typical really

Anyways, aren't Melbourne and Sydney supposed to be slower wickets? I can see Pak batsmen enjoying those surfaces. And after this inning, they will take a lot of confidence with them. So, I wouldn't be so sure of the outcome

What?! I was here when Pak were going well and had a realistic chance to win after day 4, criticizing Smith's decision. I actually didn't turn up after Australia won and if I'm not wrong this is my first post on this thread after they won. Australia are just one of my favourite teams; no-one's going to disappear if they lose lol.

India has Rootfan, Pakistan: listento_me, Australia: TJB and NZ: Blocky

If England on the forum sort themselves out, things would be pretty even steven

Melbourne more trampoline type bounce but slower than Brisbane. Sydney has apparently started taking spin again in the FC matches this year, which is a good thing.
