My point is you can't be Indias best bat if you average a pile of **** away from home. Simple.

Its ****ing obvious to everyone but hipster Indian fans on CW that want to try and big up batsmen who aren't Kohli to try and be different. He is head and shoulders above Pujara and has been since 2014. So what if he's a poster boy, he's just the best in the team. It's okay to be wrong.

Pujara is not a pile of **** away from home. That century in SA and Lanka indicate otherwise. If you think this is a hipster argument then you are the moron here.

I was arguing at the time Kohli was better. I'm proven overwhelmingly right and nah theyre not wrong, but if he turns out not to perform well then of course I'm wrong see Kohli is failing and not utilising his talent.

Also, this is nothing, there were threads on PakPassion arguing Azhar Ali was better than Virat Kohli. Azhar ****ing Ali.

I have no bone in this fight anyway since I always thought Kohli was better even when the others were doing better recently, because I knew an insane run of form like this was around the corner. But the fact that you can't see why it wasn't arguable that Pujara and Rahane were atleast close to Kohli at the time is baffling to me.

You are a 100% right about Kohli's future. And kudos because not many predicted this magnitude of awesomeness so early in his career.. But to believe that there wasn't a point in time when he wasn't conclusively the best batsman in the team is wrong.

Plenty of times. When Pujara scored the tough runs vs SA and Kohli did diddly squat until the dead rubber? When Pujara and Rahane scored those runs vs NZ and Kohli only woke up in the dead rubber again? Pujara and Rahane were far more impressive and important to our success in both those series. And had the stats to back it up, while Kohli's average was down at 43.

Frankly if you cant see why two blokes who averaged ~50 were at the very least comparable to a batsman who averaged 43, I don't know what to say. Since you're talking overseas performances though, Rahane's record is, I would argue, superior to Kohli's away from home. And before this series, he was averaging something like 90 for the year.

I was pretty sure Kohli would have a Ponting-esque run and overtake the two, but on the basis of what he'd accomplished in his career, he was not in any way head and shoulders above the two. He just wasn't.

I won't ever post there, just go there for the lulz. After a long day at work, that place is gold. This Bilal7 joker discredits Ashwin and Kohli for no reason and bigs up wifey pill Shah and Azhar Ali. Rumor also has it that Mamoon and a couple of other prominent posters are actually non Pakistani pretending to be Pakistani. I am actually sure about a couple of them! Hilarious stuff.
