Pakistan pulled off two similar chases not long back. Almost hoping for Pak to win this so that Williamson gets some sense smacked into him.

Irrespective of what happens, happy to see this effort from Azhar and Sami. This is what they are capable of as opening partners. Can't help but wonder what would have happened if they had better preparation for this series or if this series was played in March instead of November.

Azhar Ali take a bow and ignore everyone including Niall
Starting off slowly made some sense. This current approach makes it seem like they're going for the draw which is silly when you're 1-0 down. To win this test they need 5 and a half runs an over which is gonna be hard.

I hope "UAE" Khan smashes a century and helps Pak win.

How can you hate on Younis? Such a great human being.
Honestly can't remember 1 poster on here ever hating on Younis as a bloke. Many just happen to think he's not quite as good as his record suggests, rightly or wrongly.

I think everyone thinks he's a top human being though.

i say the whole new zealand team has a modest batting average away from home so you can just pick out a legend like younis

Exactly. I hate Ponting and Tendulkar but they're probably the two greatest since 1990 along with Lara. How someone is as a human being has nothing to do with their batsmanship FFS.

Doesn't look like Pakistan are going to have a proper go at this. Time to hit the snooze button for the afternoon.

Rather odd that I'm the complete opposite. I've been championing his case for being ATG for ages now and think he's still underappreciated as a batsman, but also think he's a ****ing unprofessional, childish douchebag. His conduct when it comes to Pakistan's odi team selection has been embarrassing.

117-0. I am not even Pakistani and I am nervous as hell because I have no idea what this lot will do in the next 2 sessions.

I disagree, I think they could well be thinking what McMillan was suggesting & that's with wickets in hand looking at 150-160 from the last 20 overs. Not very likely, but that could well be their tactic. I don't think they've given it away.

They'll go for it in the final session at a run a ball. This us just them making sure NZ have no chance of winning and put them on the defensive.
Trouble is that there just isn't enough attacking batsmen in the Pakistani batting lineup IMO. Going at over 6 per over is very tough at this level.

Good ****ing luck. Anything above six in tests is nigh on impossible for any sustained period of time. They need to start going now if they want to win.

This is getting interesting

Sides who start so well in 4th innings chases almost never finish them off though. Its just one of those things.

Sami Aslam has 6 tests fifties in his first 16 innings, yet an average below 40.
