We've won one Test (the previous one) v non-minnow opposition in Tests this year. You've got the opportunity to set the opposition 360+ in a day, without their best batsman, on a pitch where no one has scored at more than 3s or so an over, and you're able to block up ends if they get away on you.I am seething at the stupidity of Kane's decision to declare. Regardless of the outcome to allow them a sniff on a pancake pitch with a series lead at stake is incredibly dense.
West Indies.Who did Azhar Ali get his 300 against?
Ta. Anyone know what happened to Mohammed Irfan?West Indies.
Test series > test matches. I do see your point though. Walling played a terrible innings too and Pakistan's bad overrate (possibly deliberate) didn't help either. We've won one Test (the previous one) v non-minnow opposition in Tests this year. Good on Kane for valuing the chance to win as many Test matches as we can manage.
You can tell it was a good declaration by the equal numbers of people saying it was too aggressive and too defensive.Think Kane made the perfect declaration as it stands. A day + a few overs to bowl out a side we've managed to knock over fairly cheaply three times now, with enough runs in the bank to give the bowlers some rope. A chance to win the Test as well as the series. Only way I see Pakistan winning is if they rope a dope and cash in when our bowlers are tired, but they'll need a couple of players to have a blinder. Sarfraz Ahmed to do a Baz maybe, or Younus to pull something special out of his arse. Would need to be run a ball.
Sunny in Geelong apparently. How's the weather forecast?
Playing FC cricket now and bowling long spells and taking wickets but I doubt they trust him for test matches. Should be part of the LO squads.Ta. Anyone know what happened to Mohammed Irfan?
