If you are denying that steroid/PED use causes musculoskeletal injures you are literally a flat earther.

Not directly.

I feel like you're not learning anything here

And I still don't get what you're point was. Was it a joke? Or are you suggesting that there's a secret network of steroid using fast bowlers out there? Just want to know whether to see you as a conspiracy theorist or simply not funny.

The normal awards that everyone else has
Sort of feel the time is right to blood a really young batsman this home summer. And while I rate Mitch Marsh highly, I think he should spend this summer batting at 3 or 4 for WA. For mine, you have to average 40+ in the top 6. The selectors should pick one of the younger bats and tell them they have the entire home summer at #6.

So assuming we don't have Starc, Pattinson and Siddle available...

So for the first test in Perth:

S.Marsh (feel for Burns but I think Marsh is a cut above him against good bowling)
Warner
Khawaja
Smith
Voges
Bancroft/Patterson/Bancroft/Lehmann
Nevill +
Hastings/Bird
Cummins
Hazelwood
Lyon

Think Bird is a better bowler than Hastings, but with the amount of injuries and with only 4 bowlers, I think Hastings could do more of the grunt work. Wanna play Cummins because without Starc or Pattinson there is just no heat.

I guess the other alternative (if MMarsh doesn't play) is someone like Stoinus at #6, who is a better (more reliable) bat, and can chip in for a few overs.

Cricketer Of The Year
Not sure Stoinus has any more runs in him than Mitch Marsh who is a better bowler anyway. More upside too imo. If you're playing 6 batsmen and Cummins I'd worry we'd end the game with only 3 bowlers.

Warner
Burns
Khawaja
Smith
Voges
Head
Nevill
Starc
Hazlewood
Lyon
Bird

Head, Voges and Warner to bowl fill up overs. Who would have thought with our fast bowling talent the back up is so bare if Starc is ruled out. If that happens I'll go for an old smokie in Bollinger.

It greatly increases the likelihood in people who already have a high likelihood. I think there is a lot of PED use in sport, and that it could be a factor. Might not be but can't be dismissed.

Surprised to see some of the blokes with Test caps so far down the list, like Doolan, Quiney and especially Cosgrove. I suppose they don't play for NSW tbf

I completely forgot Faulkner. Will he be fit? Give him a run at #6

Quiney hasn't been a lock for Victoria, Cosgrove doesn't have a domestic contract here any more (SA dropped him after a poor year or two, only make runs at Leics), and Doolan hasn't really made runs since his Test stint. Given their respective ages, I don't see the selectors returning to them.

You might not have noticed that people would think it strange to isolate Lyon as the problem and then drop him for a different opponent in different conditions.
It'd be a very Aus Selector thing to do, tbf. I for one look forward to Swepson's inevitable debut.

Good work Dan, very comprehensive. Xavier Doherty is probably a little unlucky to miss out on selection, he is the only experienced player that I can think of who was overlooked, oh maybe Ludeman too, but that might be justified? I like how most of the teams have all rounders at 6 and 8. You seem to be quite high on Wildermuth. Looks a talent, but I didn't expect his name to appear ahead of the bowlers from the 7th XI or Abbott.

Maxwell to replace Lyon if Perth is fast n bouncy, And Faulkner as 4th quick instead of M Marsh.

Would just be a better balanced side for mine, longer batting and 4 genuine fast-bowling options.

Or at least it would be if I had any confidence in Maxwell scoring runs

On first glance I think Mennie is a bit low on Dan's list. Dominating those four day games for Australia A would've given him some credit, and him stinking up the ODIs should've been no surprise given he stinks up domestic one dayers as well.

Good effort. To sound like a pedant I'm pretty sure Alex Keath retired from cricket and is now trying his luck with AFL.

He was still hedging his bets when he moved to Adelaide but he was offered a Crows contract and not a SACA one so I think it's official now, yeah. Not sure if he's even playing grade cricket at all this season.
