An England captain's job is to lead the team - Eoin Morgan's Bangladesh decision is a huge mistake

Vaughan is being a tool here. I think he didnt understand the main reason that why Morgan pulled out. He is a leader yes but above all he is a human being. Morgan said that these outside occurances affect his game in the middle. If he cant concentrate on the game then just going out there to show the world how brave he is and stand like a duck is equivalent to cheating with himself and the team itself. He made the right decision for himself and the team. Talks like he cannot look into the eyes of his team mates again, not trusting Reg etc etc are stupid.

Yeah, it's all bollocks. I agree that the job of a captain is to lead a team, but people are stupidly conflating leading a cricket team with taking risks with your personal safety.

Ultimately it is at best horribly unprofessional from the ECB, if the secruity measures they are putting in place are not good enough to make this tour just as safe as any other tour then there is no way they should have taken a team. If they are, then it shouldn't have been treated differently in such a public way.

Giving the players the choice - beyond their usual professional responsibility as contracted players - is a cowardly way of avoiding doing their job.

Yeah, we Indians are no strangers to celebrating religious festivals irresponsibly. Loud processions blocking roads, banging drums and setting off fireworks all night in residential areas...

Surely it should be Leach or Batty. Dawson makes zero sense, does he bowl regularly for Hampshire.

Then again the Ballance selection shows that the England selectors have no idea about County Cricket.

If it isn't Leach the selectors want locking up. This guy has performed week in week out at the pressure filled end of the season and has given Somerset a real chance of the title. Not like he has only done it one match he is winning games on a regular basis.

At least Ballance had test match pedigree to an extent though. Dawson would be ridiculous for every reason.

"I am still a big believer that you need more than one good season to play for England. With Jack, I think his game's in order, I think emotionally he still has a bit of a way to go and I don't think he's be upset with me saying that.

"He is still a young guy, he has only ever been in Somerset and the challenges in international cricket are a lot more difficult. If they pick him then good luck to him but they'd better look after him."

Fair enough I guess, the thing is he would probably be the 3rd spinner anyway and would only play if Moeen or Rashid get ill or are totally crap. Ok he'd be in by the first India test, not sure we should take him.:laugh:

454 arrests made at an event attending by 2m people. pretty low ratio, especially compared to an event like glastonbury that doesn't get an iota of the bad publicity carnival does.

we all know the under lying reason behind it though.

So Dawson ruled out as well then going by Buck's logic?
