CW chooses the second greatest batsman ever redux, 100 men from 5 eras whittled to 1

Brian Lara

School Boy/Girl Captain
Very surprised Weekes beat out Border in votes, and mildly surprised Pollock was beaten by Chappell.

Mr_mister, how is it that sehwag has been left out and G. Smith is in when he was comfortably outvoted in the last round?

On topic:

Tendulkar
Lara
Sangakkara
Ponting
Kallis

EDIT: oops, guess that ship's already sailed. Will vote on the new list in a min.

And OS, I dont think of KW and Amla as very similar players at all. Maybe you mean their roles are similar for their sides. I am reading this half asleep anyways, but to me, they are very different players and I feel KW is better.

Not surprised at either of those... in fact it would have been surprising if it were the other way around, especially Chappell vs. Pollock. Pollock to many (especially of that vintage) was the greatest left-handed batsman ever to play the game. These sort of comments by former players don't go unnoticed.

In order...

Brian Lara
Ricky Ponting
Sachin Tendulkar
Rahul Dravid = Kumar Sangakkara

Literally had to flip a coin between Dravid, Sanga & Kallis.... Kallis drew the short straw. So even those 3 imo.

People need to watch that Kallis documentary (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gI-6PntDE0to) understand the way he played and to realise he'd likely have been far more dashing had he been in the Australian set-up for example

Wait are we only considering batting? Because otherwise Kallis's bowling puts him on top of all the others
