Nah, whenever we've tried him 5/6 in the past he's looked generally awful, likewise Stokes has had his best performances at 6, so it's working with him at 7 and I say let's keep him there, having Stokes, Bairstow and Moeen at 6/7/8 is the best part of this team +Root IMO.

Only way he moves is if he loses the gloves, he may bat so well for a bit and his keeping may not be great that they decide to play him solely as a bat but for now he has the job and we wait to see what he does.

Yeah, I am more than happy to keep JFB at 7 and build a top 5 that actually does it's job. Stokes at 6 is ok whilst Moeen is at 8, gives us that insurance policy. He batted like an idiot today (he is an idiot to be fair) but he will also win us games from 6.

Compton will be massively close to the guillotine, Vince I am not convinced about but he deserves a run now picked. Hales hopefully getting a big hundred here should keep him in for Pakistan series.

Good partnership. Bairstow fast becoming one of our most important players.

Great session for England. Any time you can score 114-2 in a session you have won it as long as you aren't playing on a road and this is anything but.

Nicely poised and a huge session coming up.

90% chance of getting 250 and 60% chance of getting 300 from here IMO...They should get 300+ from here if they bat sensibly...27 more overs for the new ball - 4 rpo will give them 171+27*4=279. Hopefully they shouldn't lose too many wickets till then and can cross 300 after that
