Dunno where my post went but I had posted originally that RPSG has the same problem the Indian T20 side seemed to have.. Way too much cake and little to no icing. While I don't subscribe to the blinded and reeking of obvious and without reason biased opinion of The People's Chump by TJB, I still think he is a good player and in good enough form to bat 3 for this side and I would look to open with KP/Rahane and Faf. They need to get MSD to bat 4 and then cushion their side with all rounders who can hit like Mitch Marsh, Perera, Irfan and Bhatia with R Ashwin at 9. M Ashwin and Ishant can round off the side. It won't guarantee them winning but it will give them a better shot for sure, esp. if Faf/TPC can be allowed to bat through at their preferred SR given neither are any good at bashing at 150+ for an extended period of time.
Yeah, they need to sort their batting order. If they do that, they will be a far better side.

Did Watson actually bowl really well or just happen to be the guy who didn't bowl much to the ****?

What a stupid selection Wiese turned out to be.I dont know why you'd drop your frontline pacer for pedestrian Sammy-esque medium pace bowling of Wiese.
Atleast if you're dropping Milne, could replace him with Kane Richardson. Not like RCB needed extra depth in their batting.

Tell you what, over the years,RCB have lost a lot of games purely through idiotic selections apart from other reasons.

191 was not a winning total but its quite clear this bowling lineup cant defend big totals either way. You'd have to pray Kohli wins the toss and decides to chase pretty much every game.

They did need Wiese's hitting though, the last 5 overs in RCB's innings cost them the game.

I'm getting deja vu to a few years ago, when I kept wondering when people would realise Steve Smith was actually good. Seems while people have been forced to grudgingly accept that he's good, there's a tendency to hold on to something, ie. "he's bad at Twenty 20". Probably just a matter of time until people are willing to grudgingly accept he's good at T20 as well.

Agree with Pratters to extent though, while it's not true that he couldn't bat lower, ideally he should bat 1-3. I'd have him opening if it was up to me, he's classes above Rahane or du Plessis
Nobody is saying that he's bad at T20. We're just saying that Dhoni is much better than Smith at the end of a T20 innings and, therefore, if the 2nd wicket falls after 10th over Dhoni should promote himself ahead of Smith. Yesterday, the 2nd wicket fell before 10th over - so sending Perera ahead of Smith was a bad decision - it was the perfect opportunity for sending Smith at no. 4.

And no - Smith is not classes above Rahane or Du Plessis.

Dhoni needs to have a rethink about his allrounders. No way mitch marsh or perera are better t20 players then albie morkel.

makes sense

Albie Morkel isn't anywhere near as good as Marsh or Perera. He probably wouldn't even make the RCB under-15s 2nd XI.

Mitch Marsh is 100% a better T20 player than Albie Morkel.

Albie played a bunch of those games when dinosaurs walked the earth, though, and I don't think only taking IPL games into account gives you the full picture anyway. Perera is dire but I'd take Marsh over Albie at the moment for sure.

Should be obvious, but just to play along . . . you realise most of those stats are from a period in the players careers where they were very different skills-wise than they are now? As in Marsh was no where near is good and Morkel was a lot better than he is now?

Of course he wouldn't, he is 34
heh

Yea Marsh and Perera are both better than Morkel now. I'd prefer Perera because RPS has a death bowling problem at the moment.
(but not Perera batting at no. 4 lol - he should be a finisher playing at 6 after Dhoni)

Top 3 should be Rahane-Faf-Pietersen.
Situation 1: If 2nd wicket falls by 10th over, 4-6 should be Smith-Dhoni-Perera
Situation 2: If 2nd wicket falls after 10th over, 4-6 should be Dhoni-Perera-Smith
