Feel no sympathy for Bhogle. He should form his own financially viable commentary team. Just like he asked off the associates and non big 3.

Is there a lot of Australian coaches/managers in the IPL?

because it seems like all the teams have Australian players and they seem to be pooping up in all the scorers/wicket takers, even relatively ordinary players.

It's not like Hastings and Stoinis are exactly international household names. I don't know if the IPL sides just don't have better options but seems surprising that guys like this are taking the valuable International Player slots.

I actually quite like Bhogle's commentary whereas I feel manjrekar and gavaskar are usually far too biased for my liking..each to their own I suppose but I agree that a commentators role (in my eyes) s to give an accurate, unbiased view of the game for those watching..

There are a few Aussie guys around. Moody comes to mind. Usually a player gets selected because of recommendation of some one. Then he remains in the 'pool' as he hasn't done enough to spoil is reputation.

tbf hastings is criminally underrated and was horrendously underutilised in the world T20

Moody, Hodge, Ponting but I am not sure if those coaches correlate with the Aussie players. Think it is the season time more than anything, meant most of the English players (Ali, Stokes, Root etc) withdrew themselves.

Yeah there's definitey a thing for Australians for some reason. There's been plenty of times the Australians haven't done well too so it's strange why they keep getting picked up. Randoms like Blizzard were playing the earlier editions and stunk it up so it's not a new thing either. Even Maxwell and Faulkner were pretty **** in the last edition iirc although they quite obviously still warrant selection.

Like I said, it's the strange love/hate thing the Indian cricket watching public has with Australians.

We hate that they keep beating us but we keep on demanding more series against them. We hate their brand of aggressive, ruthless, bloody minded cricket, yet we try so hard to emulate it. We **** all over them every chance we get, but we let Brett Lee film a Bollywood song. We hate their brash, in your face attitude, but love it when any one of our cricketers is as much of a **** as they are. Kohli is the most popular man in India now and he's basically as Australian as you are going to get.

It's this weird fetishised obsession with Australian cricket and all it stands for and our desire to be like them in every way that drives the Indian cricket-watching public. It's kinda weird and disturbing.

I think you are confusing being an asshole with being an australian. Being an asshole has no national boundaries.

Rahman and Hooda in the same team is just to much for me:)

Karn Sharma has bowled some absolute toss here, Bangalore with Sarfraz, Jadhav and Watson and with an ok bowling line up look very formidable this year.

Bhuvi totally undoing all the good work Rahman did in the previous over, absolute garbage.
