Out of that lot Kapil is the best followed closely by the English pair who are well ahead of the rest. Broad is a magnificent bowler with success around the world. I believe it was you who got a deserved slap down when you were trying to be "controversial" about this before. You seem to be a bit miffed and decided to megaphone your trolling from a silly remark into an entire thread.

:whistlingIt's a genuine and defensible question mate. Broad and Anderson are certainly in the frame for this query no matter what the fanboys think. Not like I included Truman or even Willis.

I also don't remember any slap down much less a "deserved" one .

Zaheer Khan is another interesting one. His career has gone through multiple phases which is quite unusual for a bowler. Usually you go in one trajectory - average to good to very good (Anderson) or good to very good to mediocre (Gillespie).

Zaheer started of as good, then became crap around 04-06,I mean he wasn't even the first choice behind Irfan and Balaji and that says a lot. Then the 2007 England tour he really picked himself up and contributed to a series win, was India's best pace bowler by a mile for the next few years. 2011 onwards the downward spiral started again.

It's trolling not to go along with forum orthodoxy and not go on about how great Anderson and Broad are and how you want to boof them for their magnificence.

I could mention Jimmehs bowling average outside England and how that compares with other players but I guess that would be trolling.

I like how it's a massive effrontery to include Broad and Anderson in a poll about the worst pacer to get 300 wickets when, objectively they have among the worst records for such bowlers. I didn't even vote for either of them!

Fitness issues had a major impact on his career post 2011 World Cup, he was not only India's premier bowler in tests but also in LOIs while most teams had specialist bowlers separately for tests and LOIs.

I voted for Kapil Dev, I never saw him as an out and out strike bowler but more as a complete all-rounder.

Good to see some non parochial posters who are not throwing a hissy fit just because players from their country are included in the poll.

Even though I don't agree. Kapil had a massive decline and played way too long but at his peak I think he was better than a number of other bowlers on this list.
