Don't see how New Zealand don't qualify now. Yes they may have to bat last once but if they beat India and Australia, they should beat Bangladesh at least and will probably go in as favourites against Pakistan.

Plus their next 2 games are in Mohali and Kolkata and batting second isn't that difficult on those pitches. They are very different to the two they have played on till now

Winning v Afghanistan won't be a cakewalk. It can be a tricky hurdle in the end but yeah, NZ likely to go through now.

Not sure if you are trying to make the point that these track records of the past don't matter too much. However, at times they do. Every time you hear the Pakistani players and coach speak, they have mentioned they have always played well in Kolkata. They will play in this game with a lot of confidence and that does help.

NZ winning did India a favour. Obviously need to win their games, but with their RR so **** they needed to hope on coming second with NZ just dominating and being easily on top.

I'd like to be a Super Rugby style playoff system for major ICC tournaments. Top of each pool qualifies for the semifinals, while 2nd in each pool plays 3rd in the other pool for a spot in the semifinals.
