***Official*** Australia in New Zealand 2016

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
If you think Bracewell in the past few months has bowled well without luck you cannot possibly then rubbish Southee who IMHO has bowled better than (in Australia) or on level with (here) Bracewell. And there's only room for one bowler-who-bowls-well-but-is-unlucky-so-may-click-again-one-day. I'd put more money on Southee than Bracewell to come back well, because he's done it before whereas Bracewell hasn't done much with his recalls.

That's the fine for Haze, Smith hasn't been sanctioned yet.
Hazel obviously wouldn't make anywhere near the dough Smith does, but the point still remains the same, a fine of that amount is meaningless unless there's some sort of cumulative infraction tied to it like the NRL or our own CW.

BTW well played & well deserved to Australia and their CW fans in winning the combined home & away series 4-0.

I always felt they'd have the edge & win overall, but thought it would be much closer than it was.

I'd be lying if I didn't add that there's definitely a feeling of humiliation in being hammered quite the way we were in the end.

Seriously this has been a drubbing of epic proportions. The worst part about it we were more competitive in Australia than we were at home. I don't know what exactly has happened but our world leading opening bowlers have sucked royally. All I needed to see in both of Australia's first innings was the first few deliveries bowled by Southee and Boult to know that we were **** ****ed. As soon as I saw the ball was not swinging that was the end of any chance we had of winning the tests.

The Black Caps dropped their nuts against Australia, but hey - we've got the Crapper Hadlee Cup and that's a darn sight better than winning some meaningless test matches against the newly annointed - thanks to us - number 1 side.

Lol at Baz calling Wagner a tremendous asset to the side. He was dragged to Perth...didn't play. Adelaide....didn't play. Good enough to play the Lankans, then dropped for the 1st test against Australia. Then finally gets a gig and bags 6 wickets.

Congrats to the Australians. Played test cricket the way it's meant to be played: never give the opposition an inch. The only way to play. So frustrating that we just do not get it here in NZ.

I think the most damning criticism of New Zealand across the 5 tests is that it'd be hard to give any kiwi players a spot in a combined XI aside from Williamson. There's really nobody who had a good series, except maybe Wagner who only played one test, and Taylor who has a good record but made all his runs in one innings. Boult took a decent number of wickets but only performed well in Adelaide really.

Would just be the Australian top 5, Nevill, Hazlewood, Starc and Lyon, then Williamson and whichever third seamer out of Siddle, Pattinson, Bird, Marsh, Boult or Wagner for the last spot. Tough to pick one really since most of them didn't play many games.

Really good test match from Joe Burns. Wonder if he'll be able to take the momentum from this and really cement his spot with a few more big performances.

I'm back for my daily roundup of what happened overnight. Aussies won, Jord banned. That's pretty successful.

Interesting that Smith is getting reprimanded for this yet Mahela got away with swearing his head off very clearly during that Vettori LBW decision a couple of summers back.
if that was the case, then Mahela, shouldn't have got away with it..

The odd thing was that the ball did swing for the Australians.
