I reckon almost anyone else bar Moeen would have caught the one in his first over. But he always seems to get that 'support'. I also think having Jordan and Stokes bowl at the same time is a bad idea. Apart from both potentially being expensive they're quite similar. I think a bowling attack with Finn, Topley, Willey, Stokes, Rashid and Moeen has a lot of variety, which hopefully makes it less like the batsmen are just having a net against a bowling machine.I may have been a bit unfair on stokes. He has been the best bowler today going at only 10rpo
Amla not shy to use brute strength as wellWhat a f*ckin exhibition by these two and the best part is thier different players, so with ab you marvel at the power game, the innovativeness, the fleetfootedness, etc whereas with #, you have the wrists of steel, impecable placement, and great timing
Anyone better in the LO set up to catain? Just give up and give it to Root, as we're going to do in three years any way?For all the talk when Morgan replaced Cook as L/O captain - which I believe went as far as Vaughan calling for Morgan to be selected as a specialist captain in the test side - does Morgan actually captain any differently than Cook? In this series he's been very 'captain by numbers' which is exactly what Cook was slated for.
I'm not saying that Cook should be recalled to L/O because that's a dreadful idea, but is Morgan the right man to lead the side? All a moot point for a few months anyway, don't want replacing your captain to become a pre-tournament tradition.
what would have been enough? 200? 210? 220?Man of the match was a joke Kyle Abott clearly deserve it, without his wickets this match could have been different and south africa would chase 200 plus total.
