The Nexus was such a massive missed opportunity.
Was it though? I loved it at the time but you could argue it laid the foundations for what they did with The Shield.

I think they missed an opportunity with Wade though, at that point and many others.

Was thinking Hogan in 2002 tbh, but yeah Goldberg is a good shout. Lesnar returning to the WWE a few years back another notable one.

Loving that Ivelisse is basically the top face in Lucha Underground now. Well, if we pretend Prince Puma doesn't exist.

All of team Havoc get awesome reactions. Pentagon jr. was way more over than Prince Puma. It was a little alarming tbh, reckon he won them over again with the finish.

12 years ago this week Eddie beat Brock for the WWE title. Seems like it happened just yesterday, but at the same time it seems like a lifetime ago. Where does all the time go?

Don't think The WCW guys who waited till the Turner contracts expired count, still all death of WCW era. Lesnar coming back the only serious competitor and I don't think that counts either since he wasn't even wrestling at the time.

Haha, your original post referred to free agents signed after WCW died. Higan, Gildberg and Lesnar all fit within this definition. I suppose you can make the argument that AJ was the most lucrative if you distinguish him from these others using arbitrary criteria, but the others were certainly all free agents.

Blokes who sat on their thumbs until signing with WWE after the death of Wcw are still just Wcw signings.

Not exactly like they really tried to be an agent anywhere else is it? Lesnar is the only debatable one and he had pretty much left wrestling entirely, you aren't exactly a free agent when you're not a wrestler anymore. AJ was a star at the top of his career as a wrestler and clearly desired and in talks with multiple promotions.

Even if you change the boundaries so those who waited out their contracts don't count, how about Rey Rey. He'd wrestled elsewhere after all, between WCW and WWE

Surprised Bryan Danielson hasn't had a mention. And think it may have been brought up but Kurt going from WWE worth a shout too.

And RE Brock - if you don't count him this time round, what about when he went to Japan?

I'm going to make up a list of random criteria that disqualify someone from counting as a free agent just so I can argue the Blue Meanie was the most lucrative free agent ever.
