***Official*** England in South Africa 2015/16

The great Hales is gone before playing his ODI double century gem.
Sky commentators say it kept low, but that was going on to hit the top off middle stump. Not bouncing as much as anticipated, is not the same as keeping low...... It's not like the ball went beneath Alex' straight bat......

Yeah he was just camped with his weight back. Similar flaw to his first innings dismissal, if totally different way he got out.

England should now try Jason Roy, if only to annoy Dan.

On a serious note - move Compton up

Yeah they're acting like he got a ball like Compton's first innings. At least Hales got a playable one.

Footwork, Alex. Footwork.

What would have been an acceptable series for Hales? A hundred? Two hundreds? Averaging 30? 40?

Still reckon we should keep him for Sri Lanka, unless someone seriously lays down a marker in the County game.

Well if Compton wanted to audition for the openers job, now is his chance.

Vince in at 3 I don't think would work but at least it would look really pretty occasionally.

They won't open with Compo and Cook. (Although they have virtually been doing that this series)

Compton's running worries me rather more than his rate of scoring.

Astonishing that he hasn't run out Cook or Root on this tour.

Gotta hit.

That average seriously flatters him. Mostly based on flogging an exhausted and demoralised attack on a road in a match already won.
It's just wrong to have Root named in a wheel of mediocrity. And that based on 5 tests. Criminal really!
