Even if England's tail gets cleaned up quickly, SA will be in for a tricky chase imo. There's swing for Anderson /broad, there'll be turn for Moeen, and SA don't have Graeme Smith.

Up to a point. This one is largely self-inflicted.
Stuck in the game and let scoreboard pressure tell. Didn't let it get to them when they were behind. Have to give them credit after the first test defeat and the flogging they got on the 2nd morning.

Yeah, but psychologically it's all SA. Chasing 150 is tricky when the team batting first has overturned a hefty first innings deficit or if the wicket's really gone. This is entirely different.

Its impossible to imagine England losing this after Stokes' first innings really

Draw is still heavy favourite here, but this is fun

Wouldn't have counted for much if we'd held our chances.

Still have abdv and # who have chased these type of totals before. Also momentum will be all on their side. Similar to when they had to chase 230 after rolling aus for 46.

Where are all the idiots who said test cricket needs to bring in the concept of early draws. This is why we shouldn't think that way. Not in a post Adelaide 03/06 world.

Chase is now up to 2.5 run rate if England all out now.

Once it gets above 3.5 at say 150 you start having to take the odd risk batting.

Just need to bat till a bit after tea, take the extra couple of overs off and it will be down to about 35 overs to chase over 150 by tea so every over after tea makes a SA win more and more improbable. Not that it should have come to this though.

De Kock says "Bat pad here boys" and Taylor goes bat pad next ball. What an utter choke. The amount of crow that will be served if England lose from here my God...
