This isn't something new though. Among English players from the previous gen, KP, Bell, Vaughan, Prior were very pleasing aesthetically. This newer generation is just butt ugly for some reason.

I'm seeing a steep decline in the number of lookers in New Zealand and Australia's emerging batsmen too ftr.

Cricket's not really favoured by the preening Gower/Crowe stylist in New Zealand like it perhaps was pre-internet. The cricket lifestyle places too many strictures on that kind of guy these days and takes up too much of his time.
