***Official*** New Zealand Domestic Season 2015/16

As evidenced by including sound this year, maybe they are closer to live streaming? So we ;
(anoraks) won't need to be accessing the vault to get some domestics fix? Kippax just needs 3 x 7 hours worth of space on his hard drive per day.

Yeah well I can still get every ball of a domestic match, albeit in a more tedious and painstaking way. I loved the match filter in the vault for cutting to the chase.

Not sure they'll ever do the Plunket Shield live streaming thing btw. Not sure Sky wants the scarcity (and therefore value) of domestic cricket content diluted any more than it already is.

I also get the impression the modern NZC (i.e. the land of cloyingly positive tones) are in some ways deeply embarrassed by the Plunket Shield. They almost see it like a girl would view a dad who's cracking embarrassing jokes and, annoyingly, not going anywhere.

Power Papps just out after a punchy 36(17) off Milne. Dernbach turning out for Wellington.

I'd be embarrassed about the Pie Fest with boundaries brought in, freezing cold spring nights, not even hitting the roof raises an eyebrow, excruciatingly 'packaged' entertainment, empty grounds except for entertainers on stilts.

Plunket Shield is a model of under-promised dignity in comparison.

Wouldn't be the first time they've dabbled on the fringes of plagiarism rather than original thoughts in that office. :p

It took the comparatively fresh wit of an Aussie to come up with "Big Bash" (because bash is an informal term for a celebration, yet also innuendo of the big burly agribusinessmen and the power hitting that the casual fan hopes to see). NZC then lays on the Super Smash (there's no cleverness or innuendo; it merely sounds similar to something that's proven itself a commercial hit).

Geez, how is Bradley Scott still picking up a domestic paycheck? He was done five years ago

Yeah. The domestic gun always seems a little slower but Duffy looked military medium at best.

It's always good to watch Auckland bat once Rob Nicol gets out.
Yeah...I like Rob, but geez he looks laboured every time he's at the crease - did last year too. He'll get the whole season but I'd hate to see him go around again and hold up the progress of Glenn Phillips or whomever. And the next captain, who I'd strongly consider as Colin M, with Robbie O down the track.

Look, I think we're playing the man with Howsie a bit. Duffy hasn't come on at all like we'd all have thought or hoped. I usually hate this line of conversation but he's mid 130s tops, who swings it a bit, hits okay lines and is reasonably tall. None that is close to international cricket right now, or in the future unless it improves.

His only option seems to be spearing in Neesham-like inswingers now, with the even more crumpled position he's getting into.
