Australian Domestic Season 2015/16

Anyone watching the Qld vs SA game ?

How has Stanlake been looking ?
I watched some of Stanlake in the first innings. Not surprisingly for a guy so tall, he generates good bounce which is what I noticed most. I thought he seemed to bowl good lines and his action doesn't scream "back injury" or anything so I'm looking forward to seeing more of the guy.

Now your turn, how was Ayre's keeping? I watched about 8-10 overs of Vics innings but he didn't have to do anything out of the ordinary at all.

That's one of the first things I noticed about him. Very front on action with no real twisting. The big leap might give him some ankle/knee problems, but looks a nice simple action with not much that can go wrong or lead to injuries.

was he swinging them?He was hooping them around when he went total side on last year IIRC

Any ways get him in for Adelaide. Sidds too

What's your estimate of Stanlake's speed ? from the Matador games I would guess low 130's/

Saw the second day, Ayre's looked good keeping, neat and tidy, but he did miss a diving chance to his right hand and let through a couple of balls that each went for 4 byes. The first looked as if it went straight through the gloves, the other was off Ahmed so he may not have judged it right. Put them down to first day jitters
He looked first class standard. ( Would like Vic Orthodox's opinion)

What is the assessment of "Little Ricky" Doran's progress to date ?

After three games each team has won a game with only one draw. ( and the Vic/NSW debacle).

Batting

Tas Dunk 389
Vic Dean 366
WA Klinger 365
Qld Henry 228
NSW Smith 219
SA Ferguson 211

Bowling
SA Mennie 14
Tas Bird 12
Vic Ahmed 11
Qld Hopes 11
WA Behrendorff 9
NSW Starc 8

So Klinger the most likely candidate of the top 3 run scorers to come in for Adelaide based on his record I would guess. Dunno about the bowlers. Bird a shot but Boof isn't a fan. So probably Siddle by default and Berendorff into the 12.

Midwinter, tricky to judge speeds but im thinking 133-135 range for stanlake.

Cheers for the Ayre update, so basically he is better than Wade.

Doran has flashes of brilliance, ive seen a couple of pulls which any Tassie bat not named ponting would be proud of.

One of the Matador comms compared him to Langer and I think thats fair too.

with smith staying at 3, I think I'd honestly give Maxwell a shot.
Interesting that they didn't seeing as they've called SOK into the 13. He's scoring runs and taking wickets and bowling economically so far this shield season so could have slotted into 5 pretty well and offered another spin option if the pitch is dry.

I really wouldn't want either Maxwell or Mitch Marsh batting at five, particularly with a 1-0 lead going into the final Test. I'm not completely anti-Maxwell in Test cricket but I think he should be competing with Mitch Marsh only at the moment.

Don't necessarily disagree with any of that. But they are going to pick MMarsh no matter what it seems. And I really wouldn't want either Maxwell or Shaun Marsh batting at five but if it's gonna be one of them...
