McCullum talking bull****
Neesham on twitter had the opposite opinion,

Jimmy Neesham retweeted Andrew Gourdie
Intent or reaction time are irrelevant. He was out of his crease, put his hand up and stopped the ball. End of.

spot on Jimmy.

I'm a Baz fan boy but using the words 'immature' is pretty rank, especially when it's a column - not something said off the cuff in an interview. And he comes off as far too preachy, like he's the bastion of what is right and wrong as a captain. A rare got it wrong moment by Baz.

No doubt that'll get dredged up when we're in Australia in a couple of months time

Why is Steve Smith the only intelligent and sensible captain here?

The world's gone backwards
No, McCullum is thinking of the up and coming Test series, and playing good psychological warfare, trying to get under Smith's skin, that sort of thing.

But you've missed my point haven't you. They were wearing the three lions but:

Different captain
Different players
Different coach
Different selectors

Trying to badge it as hypocrisy, because let's face it that's what you're doing, is just nonsensical.
I think you have missed my point.

England were happy to take Inzi's wicket and now they have
Different captain
Different players
Different coach
Different selectors

So if they replace Morgan and the next captain thinks differently are all international teams supposed to change how they think too. Is the "spirit of cricket" dependent on who is captaining England at the time.

Its just like McCullum who was involved in the run out of Murali now thinks differently, and he expects other teams to change according to what he thinks this week.

I just can't see any reasonable argument for recalling Stokes there. Sure you can argue that he didn't show intent therefore he shouldn't have been given out, if you want to argue the letter of the law. That's fine.

But no one else was responsible for him being out of his crease. There was no play that could have been considered foul. Australia wasn't guilty of using cheap tactics or anything that contravened any spirit of fair play.

Really don't understand McCullum's comments.

McCullum sounds like the worst kind of reformed smoker

Reality is that Stokes looked as if he was going to be run out by yards until he flung his arm out so no reason whatsoever to contemplate withdrawing the appeal

In some ways it is a good thing in that Australia will be focusing on McCullum when in reality it is Williamson, Watling, Boult and Craig who will probably win the series for NZ.

Is it against the spirit of cricket to fail to recall a batsman who has been given out lbw, on the grounds that it was unintentional? This is dumb.
